Client Goal

Trace and repair a failing drainage system on an active commercial lot, tying into the adjacent property's civil infrastructure without shutting the site down.

Challenge

The site stayed in daily commercial use throughout the project, and the existing drainage routing wasn't fully documented — meaning excavation had to proceed carefully around unknowns, rock, and live traffic.

Approach

Coordinated excavation crews — including hydraulic hammer work through rock — to trace and expose the existing line, set new precast drainage structures by crane on compacted crushed-rock bases, ran new PVC storm pipe and tie-ins to the existing system, replaced the catch basins, and restored and re-marked the lot.

Outcome

A fully functioning drainage system and a repaved, re-levelled, re-marked parking lot — delivered with the site fenced and sequenced around live operations.

Scope of Work

  • Saw-cut and removal of asphalt
  • Rock and soil excavation, including hydraulic hammer work
  • Crushed rock bases for new structures
  • Supply and set of precast drainage structures, with crane lifts
  • New PVC storm pipe and tie-ins to the existing system
  • Catch basin replacement
  • Backfill, compaction and paving restoration
  • Re-marking of parking stalls
